History

Union Berlin, officially known as 1. Fußballclub Union Berlin e. V., is a German professional football club based in Köpenick, Berlin. The club’s origins can be traced to 1906, when its predecessor FC Olympia Oberschöneweide was founded. The 2022-23 season was a remarkable one for Union Berlin, who finished fourth in the Bundesliga and qualified for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. The club also reached the quarter-finals of the DFB-Pokal, where they lost to Bayern Munich in a close match. The club’s top scorer was Sheraldo Becker, who netted 12 goals in all competitions2
